I'm thrilled to announce a paper of mine published by Scientific Reports, a Nature journal, which is the 5th most cited journal across all disciplines worldwide! (IF = 4.6, h-index = 282, Scopus Q1, 92/100). This achievement holds special significance for a social science researcher like me. For the first time in the literature, I have trained machine learning algorithms with the acoustic features of speech sounds and tested their ability to predict human classification of L2 sounds in terms of L1 categories. Undoubtely, the contribution of neural networks is remarkable.
